A Look at Exercise Stretching Walking

By: Maxwell Maseko

Although walking will benefit almost anyone, someone with high levels of fitness probably wouldn't gain that much. But for someone who doesn't exercise that much, a half hour walking program every day would soon see results in breathing and slower heartbeat to name a few. Surprisingly, walking at a fast pace can be quite tiring and it is good to slow down every so often to take a break as a faster pace can also creates more impact on the joints as well.

However, walking the same route every day can be tedious, so vary it as much as possible and alternate the days as well, it will make it much more pleasant. Some of the most popular endurance exercises are stationary bike riding, walking and rowing.

If you are someone looking to shed a few pounds then there really isn't a better alternative than walking as it can be done at almost anytime and anywhere. Other types of exercise also include an additional fitness element so if you were walking with a loaded rucksack, there would be an element of weight training to add to its benefits for example.

So there are many benefits to walking as an exercise, there is little cost involved; it doesn't impact on your joints nor do you generally need to buy equipment unless you are looking to set up a home gym and include a treadmill. To start, it is best to limit your walking to just five minutes a day at first and then gradually increase this in stages to that magic thirty minutes pre day.

For anyone who is considering taking up regular exercise at the gym for instance then walking can be a perfect stepping stone as you will lose some weight and improve your stamina levels. If you have a budget to work with though, you may want to consider a home treadmill which can really speed up your fitness regime.

Treadmills are still the most popular exercise machine out there, but not everyone can use a treadmill safely, especially when it is to be used for running because of the often high impact exercise that is required. A treadmill works because it utilizes a belt that rotates at various speeds and can be raised at one end to simulate a hill; this give the equipment the ability to be used to help improve the heart, lungs and circulation of the user and increasing their stamina.

The heart of your exercise treadmill is its motor and it is this plus the treadmill's ramp size that are the most important aspects to look for. The treadmill works for a lot of people who like to work out in the privacy of their own home.

Ultimately it is the convenience of a treadmill that is hard to beat because if even if you only have ten minutes to spare you can use it so it means you can walk at any time you feel like it.
